Chris Williams is a guitarist, session musician, and instructor based in the Salt Lake City area.

A graduate of Utah State University’s guitar program, Chris studied under Corey Christiansen and was awarded as a Caine Scholar in the music program. While at USU, he performed with the jazz ensemble, jazz combo, and jazz guitar ensemble.

Chris currently performs with country artist Susie Brown, formerly of the JaneDear Girls, and actively gigs with Sky Olson. His recording and project work also includes the alternative-rock project Garden Drive, whose debut EP From the Garden was released in August 2024, as well as his own solo project, including his debut album For the Better, released February 28, 2025.

During high school, Chris performed with Caleb Chapman’s Soundhouse, where he had the opportunity to share the stage with artists including Steve Smith, Victor Wooten, Rashawn Ross, Jeff Coffin, and Will Calhoun. He has also performed internationally in England, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and China, including tours with Caleb Chapman’s Crescent Super Band and jazz orchestra ensembles.

Across each setting, Chris focuses on serving the song, supporting the artist, and bringing a prepared, professional presence to the music.
